We have chosen to introduce the study of the regions of the world with two introductory chapters on the theoretical foundations of the science of geography, and then the first chapter to familiarize us with the concept of the science of geography, its field and its divisions, while the second chapter is devoted to a more comprehensive study of the concept of regional geography and the idea of the region, then the types of regions used by geographers in their studies. Each of the following chapters deals with one of the major regions of the world, which we have chosen to use in this general study, as they are close to the mind of the average reader: Europe, Soviet Union, East Asia, Middle East, Tropical and Southern Africa, Oceania, Pacific Islands, including Australia, Latin America, and North America.
